A recently modernised very spacious studio apartment suitable for a couple, two friends or a couple with a child. It contains sleeping for a couple (double bed) plus a second single suitable for adult or child. There is a shower room and separate wc. The apartment has a kitchen containing fridge, 2 ring electric hob and microwave with grill and plenty of utensils, saucepans etc. A dining table and chairs allow for eating inside and there is a three seater settee. A shower room with larger than average shower and a separate wc complete the apartment.

This is one of 4 apartments within our converted home. Each apartment has a unique character and has been well equipped with the comfort of our guests in mind. All apartments contain plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses plus a kettle and coffeemaker.This apartment is spacious and, because it has been converted from the original workrooms of the vigneron (winemaker), it retains a constant temperature regardless of the outside temperature (a cool sanctuary from the sun). Although modern in appearance, this apartment still has the original wood beams (half trees really!) from the construction of the original workrooms of the vigneron. It is possibly the most comfortable of our apartments during July and August.

The house contains communal facilities including a large walled sun terrace containing a barbecue, dining tables and chairs sufficient for all apartments plus sun loungers and a covered swing chair. There is also a recreation room containing a comfortable seating area with settees, chairs and tables, a full size table tennis table, baby football and a cupboard with a selection of board games and books. The area remains at a constantly comfortable temperature during the summer months. WIFI is now available in most communal areas within the house and a house computer is available for checking emails.

We have a selection of beach equipment for the use of our guests (including beach mats, sun umbrellas, cool boxes etc). Beach towels can also be provided if your are flying and your luggage allowance is tight - please just ask when you book. We also have a fold up cot and highchair for the use of our occasional younger guests plus important extras such as clothes airers, iron and ironing board and hairdryers can be provided. There is also a house washing machine. Parking is readily available on the road outside in marked parking bays or on a number of side streets nearby.

Mediterranean beaches to suit all tastes (from 15km) ranging from quiet and secluded without facilities to busy ports with bars and restaurants.

Also water parks, pony trekking on the beach, pedalo and other sea sports catered for.

A choice of superb restaurants to suit all pockets many offering out door dining during the warm summer evenings from small bars offering a 'plat du jour' to a star rated chateau offering candle-lit intimate dinners for that special occasion. Fish and seafood are a local speciality.

Central Beziers (10km) contains markets (including antiques), a tree lined centre with bars and restaurants, a cathedral, theatre and art galleries, and an excellent range of shops!

Parc Naturel du Languedoc (20km). North of Thezan including gorges, caves, walking, cycling and fishing.

Carcassone (100km). A large fortified medieval town rich in Cathar history.

River Orb (3km) for swimming, fishing, white water rafting, canoeing, bird watching and walking.

Pezenas and St Chinian for the weekly markets of fresh produce, wines and regional products.

St Chinian, Faugeres and Minervois are three AOC areas all within an easy drive. Visit the local caves, sample the local wine and maybe buy a bottle or two. Red, Rose and white are all available from around 1 euro per litre. Have fun finding your favourite!

Rennes le Chateau (2 hours) Village steeped in Da Vinci legend. the Spanish border and Andorra are also within reach for a daytrip.

Thezan is only about 10 minutes from junction 35 of the A9 motorway. Directions can be sent if required.

International airports at Carcassone (Ryanair and BMIbaby); Montpellier (choice of international airlines and Ryanair);Perpignan (Ryanair and Easijet) and Nimes (Ryanair) all within about 1 hours drive. Toulouse (about 2hours); Barcelona and Girona (about 2 to 2.5 hours). Beziers recently started to receive flights from the UK. Currently Bristol, Stanstead and Luton to Beziers airport. Quick and easy for long weekend by making use of this. We can usually offer start dates to fit in with the flights. The airport is an easy 15minute drive from the house and cars can be hired and collected at the airport.

Rail: TGV to Avignon or Beziers from Paris with routes from the UK.

Drive: (and take back more wine!) 9/10 hours from St Malo, 10/11 hours from Calais
